The windows at Susan Hensel Gallery are full of the tubes of Inventory Mangement. And the survey is ready to take! Please click on the link below to add your voice to the artwork.
IINVENTORY METHODS SURVEY ON SURVEY MONKEY
Your identity will remain anonymous, your IP address will not be collected. But your answers will become part of the artwork. Initially I intend to print out the responses and scatter them ib the windows with the artwork. I hope they will also inspire new ways to think about this whole issue of weight loss, values and feminism.
25.5/14.5 more than halfway.
Spacing the purchases of frames among three credit card cycles...The final 15 frames for STATISTICS were delivered late last week. So, today I assembled them sufficiently to get a photo. Can you spot the upside down and backwards #3? I can, and I will fix it. It is not necessary for there to be a trick in this artwork. These are temporarily mounted and framed. Now, onto the final frame with plexiglas, foamcore backing. glazier points and wire. 45 frames. 8 x10 each.
Do you know what this is about? It IS an completed artwork about an un-completed process. The journey lingers uneasily somewhere between the second and third block of frames.
We are all weighed and measured and subject to the bondage of assigned value, encouraged to become the perfect package rather than the engaging, ethical, highly valued , well rounded human being.
A 13 panel mixed media collage with encaustic finish. 22" x32".
I am trying to figure out how to hang this piece. Below there are 4 different orientations. I am leaning toward the second vertical or the bottom horizontal. What do you think?
Just a note:
The project now has a new title:
as the project has progressed, it has increasingly become a project that shows itself as NUMBERS, systems of measurement, valuations.
The daily proctice of photographing the scale is becomeing a video . This whole process is developing into an installation having to do with systems of measurement, inventory methods, numbers of judgement. Stay Tuned!
At not quite 50% toward goal...my columnar process is increasingly evident. I am beginning to recognize myself in the mirror again. The changes are remarkable, to me. I am not yet svelte, for sure. Besides...can any woman who is 5 feet tall meet the crieteria of svelte? Long legs, willowy? I am, and will for-most-ever-more, barring frailty, be sturdy. I am well anchored to the earth, flat feet planted firmly in a reality that tends toward the factual.
My leggings are "longer" now, reaching easily and comfortably to my ankles. As they are required to cover less horizontality, they are eager to extend vertically. My waist gently appears. My neck is beginning to emerge again, separating itself from my ears.
The old Fitbit went to live in Boston at Christmas. Children are the beneficiaries of technological hand me downs. Now I have a SURGE...which does all the same things AND has a heart rate monitor (important to someone in their 60's) and a watch.
The plan is working. A waist of a sort is emerging. Artwork is developing. Eating is becoming more mindful and food more pleasureable.
